How to choose a desk and chair height

A comfortable home office starts with the right heights.

Desk height

Many fixed desks are about 28 to 30 inches tall. A standing or adjustable desk lets you change height through the day.

Chair height

When seated, your feet should rest flat and your elbows sit near desk height. Check the chair's seat height range.

Measure the room

Allow space to push the chair back, and check the desk's width and depth against your wall.
